Disneyland is SO much more manageable than Disney World in Florida. Smaller, less crowded yet still 'Disney' and very entertaining.
After a few smaller rides, we convinced the kids to go on a bigger roller coaster, which was great!
Corn dogs for dinner...yummy.
My favourite part was Cars Land. I loved that movie when my kids were little and Disney has rocked it!
We managed to stick around long enough for the light show & fireworks.
Day 1 was a success!
While I am here....Day 2 was a pretty big hit too:)
It started with renting this beauty...
We drove to Long Beach, which was pretty meh. From there we headed to Santa Monica Pier and Beach.
And then we hired bikes and rode along the path to Venice Beach...a perfect place to stop for Ice Cream 🍦 Venice Beach was a spectacular combination of beach, tourists, cool architecture and poverty. A very 'eclectic' area one might say. It was well worth the trip!
We finished the day driving up to Malibu and through the Santa Monica Mountains, which was a very different landscape, beautiful in it's own right.
We have two and half more days in Disney and LA before we head to Auckland, where hopefully our pace of life will slow down a wee bit:)
